In a remarkable career straddling four decades Dionne Warwick's boundary blurring mix of pop gospel and R&B has earned her a reputation as one of music's foremost sophisticates. Having grown up in East Orange New Jersey she began singing in church at the tender age of six. As a teenager she formed her own gospel band - The Gospelaires - with sister Dee Dee and aunt Cissy Houston (mother to Whitney). Her solo career began in 1962. Since then she's amassed nearly sixty hits shifted huge numbers worldwide and bagged countless awards including several Grammys.
